Default Hybrid Help - B18C1 OBD-II into a 94 Civic VX

Hey guys I just want to get some questions answered and other things sorted out, and I have some pics so I can show instead of you guys having to decipher my bad explanations. Anyways i have a 99 Spec GSR motor OBD-II of course, going into my VX. I Have all the parts of the motor except the shift linkage, and axles. I was going to purchase axles next, but looking at this pic am I missing anything driveshaft wise, or can i Just purchase axles..??

Pic. 1

Question 2
Also - regarding motor mount brackets, the only I recieved was the one that goes on the transmission, which mounts from the Civic (92-95) can be used again??

Thats all I can think about for now - but until then here are some other pics..

3 months of hard summer work, 9-5 every day for 5 days a week = no life.
*sigh* good bye teenage years...

thanks guys, hope to get some questions answered

just need the axles
you will need the upper engine mount from a teg,
as well as the rear tranny mount,
and lower front tranny mount,
hope that helps

Thanks for the tip on the axles. But I do have all the mounts, the transmission one, the T-Bracket (as i call it), and the timing belt side mount. I am talking about the brackets - what slides into it. Should I get integra ones of those, and is there a bracket on the rear mount (t-bracket)?

are you running an obdI or II ecu? i might be getting a 98 b18c1 but im worried it may be a wiring nightmare to go obdII. i tried searching but the archive only works for stuff since the search came back up.

I will be running an OBD-I P72 ECU, just bought it. My friend runs this exact setup and no problems yet for him..

Axles:

Just buy any 1994-2001 Integra, 1994-1997 Del Sol VTEC, or 1999-2000 Civic Si axles. ABS or non-ABS doesn't matter - they'll ask.

Mounts and brackets?

You can use the Civic front mounts, but you'll need the Intagra brackets. If you want to retain A/C then get a Del Sol VTEC A/C bracket.

Tranny mount - Civic one is just fine.

Rear mount? Use the Integra bracket, and either the Civic or Integra mount.

The mount on the timing cover side should be the Integra mount. It's aluminum and round looking. You should already have the cast iron black bracket on the GS-R block for the mount to bolt to.

Diagrams anyone

Also - what do you guys think. Should I go ahead and buy some Motor Mount inserts t00? Usually where do you put them , all around or just on the tranny mount. Ive heard diff. stories.

thanks again

I have this exact setup in my 92 VX with a 99 B18C1. I have all OBDII stuff - injectors, distributor, etc. running with the 99 engine harness and 95 OBDI P72 ecu. It's been over a year since I did the swap and I've had no problems whatsoever. The wiring is minimal (knock sensor, 02 sensor, and secondary butterflies) and it's a really fast and reliable setup.

You don't need an OBDI engine harness unless you are going to use OBDI injectors and distributor. I have the 99 OBDII GSR engine harness on my car with a 95 OBDI P72 ecu and there was no rewiring, other than the obvious (knock, O2, butterflies). The OBDII Integra harness plugs were not changed so the 99 harness will plug into a 92-95 cabin harness. Trust me I have the setup and installed it myself so I know this works.

This is correct. I just swapped a '99 B18C1 into a '93 CX. They key is to make sure you get the engine harness if you buy an ODBII engine.

And why is that? Where did you get your information?

I understand you might have been trying to "help" but **** bro, why talk about **** you have no idea about? You obviously have never even tried to plug in a 1996-up engine harness from an Integra into a Civic, because it PLUGS RIGHT IN with no re-pinning or rewiring of anything.

If anyone else that didn't know a lot about this **** read your incorrect comment, he/she might actually believe that **** and waste money or pass up a low mileage 1996-up swap just because of your statement.

I wish I was a moderator so I could just "edit" **** like that post and replace it with:

"Good luck!"

So nobody would have to read misinformation like that ****.

And you even tried to act really smart about it too like,

"That engine isn't going anywhere without an OBDI harness..."

We are all here to learn and help each other. I guess I'm trying to help you out as well as others by asking you to not give "advise" next time if you have never actually done the **** yourself or really know someone who has done it.

You can get pissed if you like, but I am actually trying to help.

Carry on with the thread please

I completely agree. I was on here trying to get some help with a swap I was working on: 96 LS with 92 cable 5 spd. tranny into a 91 CRX DX automatic. A few people started saying "the tranny mounting bracket welded on the frame rail is slightly different for an auto than a standard. You'll need to cut it off and weld in a new one in the right spot." So I started think, holy **** this is insane why would they design the cars like this? I actually considered putting the old motor back in there for a few days. But after a call to HASport and talking with a few others that have actually done an auto to manual swap in this year car, they told me that the information I was told was incorrect. ALL 88-91 model Civic's and CRX have the tranny bracket located in the exact SAME position whether they are auto or manuals. I have yet to drop in the motor and tranny because I'm working out the wiring but I think that HASport and the people that have done the swap before would know.
