I have experience with this system. Fitment is as to be expected with most bolt on exhausts... good. I thought the sound was really nice.. deep and never sounded raspy. Even though it is stainless, it does corrode especially on the welds. The only thing that I did not care for was that after about 6 months the resonator on the b-pipe cracked around the welds. Since I put things off and never fixed it, it fell off on the highway. Not sure if it was a quality issue or my driving style back then that caused it. Hope this helped.

Comptech high-flow catalytic converter and sport-tuned cat-back SS exhaust.

^ is what I have... It's not too loud (IMO) under normal driving. But if you do the WOT thing then people look.

I'm wondering what you think over all?
How it sounded?
Was it loud?
Did anything rust?
Fitment?
Quality?

I have the ability to purchase a very slightly used one for $400.00 shipped to Hawaii which is a great deal.

Thanks Type-R folks </TD></TR></TABLE>
i have the axle back on my car (apexi b pipe), overall i like it, even though i lost some of my top end with it

its sounds good, its not loud at all, a little deep, but for the most part quiet, i dont get hassled by cops with it, but my canister is painted black, it fits good, i bought the muffler used off a mod on honda-tech, he had it for awhile, it did have a small spot of rust on the outside, but it wasnt bad. here's a couple pics on my teg, i had a broken hanger in one of the pics lol

Im using the axle back as well. The sound is great. I like it cause its not too loud, has a deep sound, and is not raspy at all. Plus, its only a little bit bigger than stock. I just wanted something with a little bit of sound. As far as quality goes I haven't had any problems with it. No rust or anything. I bought it new from Comptech about 8 months ago.

Can't stand the sound. Low and drone-ish. equally as bad as the spoon n1 (loud, raspy, obnoxious) axle back with any bpipe that does not have much of a resonator.

Fits great.

Rather have a twin loop, hytech, or fujitsubo.

the comptech resonates worst of all (in the cabin, around the driver's head), and the fujitsubo is pretty bad in this category (but it sounds damned good in/out of car, unlike the comptech.)

(IMO)

i bought it used, DC 4-1 header 2.5 in collector, highflow cat, apexi b pipe (from n-1 exhaust)

its not that loud at all really, i cant imagine a mugen or hytech being that much more quiet

I did not own one. But I had a friend locally who had one, and I drove his car a handful of times, and was a passenger quite often. I believe he had a comptech 4-2-1 header and aftermarket cat.

Mine started out quiet but over time has gotten louder but I can stand a little loud as long as its not raspy. Which the Comptech is not.

EEK, you buy that off of me? I remember I painted my comptech flat-black, but it has been several years ago and that's about all I remember.

Anyways, I always liked the comptech exhausts. Nice tip, not too loud, etc. If you just put the axle-back on, your oem B-pipe will keep the muffler nice and quiet--relatively speaking.

Comptech uses SS Dynomax Ultra mufflers and welds a really nice tip and SS hangers on them.

I can think of many exhausts worse than the comptech, but only a handful that are better.

i've got a similar one from comptech in my db8... and i love it! it downs low and "solid" and has no hint of that raspy-ness crap out there... plus, like others have said, it looks like a "beefed up" stock exhaust if you want to go with the more OEM look. GL

naw i got it from a mod up in the north east, i painted mine flat black... i did get pulled over once for mine, but thats just cause Fairfax county will pull you over for just looking at them, he let me go though, i told him it was just a tip on the stock muffler

My car came with the full Comptech exhaust. IMO it's too loud for me and like Chris N said, sounds like ***. I would prefer a stock set up and would trade someone local straight up if I could.
