here is my question, the previous owner dosent know his *** from his elbow when it comes to cars, now the thing is...when my vtec engages it just screams like a mother *****...its crazy...i love it... my mods that I know of, CAI AEM, DC headers, Cat, Cat back Apex-i N-1, VAFC, tuned and thats it...

both my friends have the same exact setup...and the vtec dosent sound anything close to mine...could it be that i might have cams and i dont know about it? how could i check to see if i have after market cams ??
im newbish when it comes to valvetrain unfortunatly

and maybe im stock and its just my car for some reason...mine is a 97 and there a 99 not sure if that might make a diff??

To check your cams, simply remove the valve cover and look for the part number. If it doesn't match the Honda spec list, you have aftermarket cams. Try Googling the number to see what company they are (if they don't say)

 

for the record, my VTEC completely roars when it kicks in. only other thing i could think of is you don't happen to have a controller on it do you? could it be kicking in hard because it's restricted to hold back to w/e RPM you would have it set at? just a thought.

I think my x-over is pretty decent too. I think that every engine is a little different and that some just sound a more ballsy then others. i wouldn't worry about it.

Don't mind the shitty acceleration. These are old videos when i had a leaky header, h23 tranny, and the infamous "hesistation." still haven't gotten rid of it entirely.

those crossovers sound just like anyother h22 to me. sounds exactly like mine.

all of those crossovers sound like any other h22's w/ i/h/e IMO. I've seen a lot of them dyno and heard them in small areas so you can hear it extra loud and clear and those sound clips sound the same.
