Default Audibility of Vtec

I am curious as to the loudness of vtec on a gsr. I have a 96 gsr I/H/E/VAFC 112,xxxmi and when I hit vtec its pretty quiet. I met a couple of tuners the other day and we were chilling and what not one had a 99 Si and the other had a 99 gsr both had i/h/e and suspension. Riding in the Si vtec hit real loud almost like he had aftermarket cams in it but he didnt. also the gsr was louder than mine. How loud would those who have stock cams say their vtec is. just out of curisoty

If you get a single stage IM and and cams it will be quite loud. With stock cams the cross over is not that loud but when the butterflies open up you can hear a louder sound.

I have ITR cams in a GSR with a 4800RPM crossover. You can hear the cross over, but it is not loud.

because of our dual stage manifold we can barely hear the crossover. If you disable the butterflies than it will be just as loud, but you wont have the low end torque which the long runner butterflies help with.

Yeah, no ****. I had to run open header for two months!! VTEC sure is loud, but it kills your ears, especially on a 7 hour trip up the interstate, cruising @ 5000 rpm the whole time.
