B18B with a D16Y8 tranny???
What is the compatibility of a B18B with a D16Y8 tranny? Because here is the thing, I have a '96 Civic EX with bearings that are shot to hell and looking for a motor. Well, my motor come to find out, along with a few others are rather hard to come by. My ex girlfriend just wrecked her '98 Integra LS and is selling me the car as junk. Her car is AT and mine MT, and from everything I've been researching on I have all the parts need for the AT to MT swap(correct me if I'm wrong). I would just like to be sure this would work before spending some time and money on everything. Thank you to everyone that replies!

you could proboly trade your ex/si trans for an LS trans......no one wants them...or sell the ex one and pay maybe another 100 dollars for a b series trans....
I don't know why everyone goes crazy over the b16/itr trans.
it's not like it's a ultra close ratio anyways.
b16 still has WIDE gears. Only main advantage is the 2.105 2nd gear. Which is no big deal.
d-series with a b-series transmission. lol that's the worst idea i've ever heard. i'd rather just get a b18b engine.

i believe when you're making high hp on a d series, the tranny's tend to blow up.
the guy is shooting for 500+whp on his d series so it makes sense

Well, thanks for the help guys... If anyone needs/wants the intake manifold, heads or tranny off my D16Y8 they are up for sell...make an offer! The block is still good, just might need a crankshaft kit or something...
