They're selling a kit here, an inverter style stick welder with an add-on kit with a tig-torch and a gas feed line. Now I think there was two inverters 100A and a 130A, both DC. Now the main question here is, since tig welding is close to oxy-ace welding, would either of those tigs suffice to weld lets say automotive body panels and some manifold stuff, or are they complete crap?
Price isnt that high, 400euros for the kit. But I'd like some "expert" opinions.

 

All TIG welders are good stick welders, but not all stick welders are good TIG welders.

For example, this unit lacks AC, pulsing, flow control, etc., and thus can only be used to weld steel. 130 amps will be enough for up to sch10 steel, but does it have a good duty cycle at full power?

 

True, however I'd most likely be welding stainless and mild, but as I had this imagine in my head that its not impossible to weld alum with a DC tig, but that it would be hard.
Lets just say, that if my financial situation was better I'd get a real tig by Kemppi, but atm I'd have to settle for something less, more like something I could weld autobody sheet metal and pipe with wall thickness of something like 3mm. I have a mig, but I like the slower pace of a tig.
