One of my friend's recently bought an 01 Civic LX. He's not sure if the car is supposed to come with keyless entry remotes? Is it? or are EX's the only ones?

 

EX's are the only models to come with Keyless Entry from the factory.

Word. This is why I have an EX. But if you want keyless entry, all you have to have is power locks, and an aftermarket or OEM (preferred) system to equip it with keyless entry.

 

nope only ex...i got an lx and thought the same thing and called honda...its way to much for them to do it for you...better off going with an alarm...

 

smart people get an alarm (specially if they mod their car), so what's the point of having it from the factory? but yes, ex comes with it.

I added keyless entry to my sister's LX for 120bux shipped from handaaccessories.com. The kit took me 20 min to install.

 

i agree with toyomatt84. handaaccessories.com factory keyless. alarms are just annoying when im trying to sleep and i here a damn horn honking all night. if someones going to steal from your car an alarm isnt going to stop them

well why not leave your doors open so they can come and help themselves? they won't disturb you.

 

because people ignore alarms if someone wants what you have bad enough they are going to get it. why annoy me while im trying to sleep so they can do it. keyless entry = great. but alarms are mostly pointless. and id rather leave my doors open then have to reploace a broken window. obviously you havent had a car broken into and had to replace the window

 

My 05 LX had keyless from the factory, but maybe folks were just speaking about 01's.
