A/C filter replacment
How hard is it?
I thought i was gonna be done in max. 1/2h and after 2,5h i gave up and decided that i need to go and buy the right tool tomorrow. I have a civic manual, but it says nothing about the filter, the closest thing there is is the description of how to take the evaporator out.
So, am i doing something completly wrong? It's an 99 EK4 and i'm talking about the filter beneath the passanger airbag.

IF YOU HAVE CABIN POLLEN FILTERS IN A CIVIC ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PULL THE GLOVE BOX DOWN POP OUT THE TWO SIDE STOPPERS AND THE GLOVE BOX DROPS DOWN FURTHER. THEN THEIRS A TRAP DOOR THAT HAS TWO ARROWS FACING DOWN. THEN POP OUT THE DOOR TAKE OUT THE FILTERS OUT OF THIER CASING MAKE SURE THE ARROW IN THE FILTERS ARE FACING DOWN AND REINSTALL (MAKE SURE YOU WATCH ON HOW THE ARROWS ARE FACING FOR THE ARE FLOW) AND PUT BACK EVERTHING YOU UN DID
Damn it, so it is simple!
The filter is in a white plastic casting? I just saw no way to open that thing so i tryed taking it out completly, and found myself withoout the right tool.
I'm going out right now, to look what the hell was i doing yesterday!
Thanks!

Here is a picture i took, let's work with this.

Since i saw no other way how to get the filter out, i wanted to take the whole white thing out and than focus on getting the filter out. But even this is complicated, since it's all very tightly conected to the black box and that is connected to the next thing.
I just can't belive i can't get a damn filter out.

It's most likely that i can't read the manual, because i didn't find anything on the filter in the A/C section of the manual.
Is it o.k. to use the vacuum cleaner to get the rest of the dirt out that was left in the box when i took out the filter? I would like to clean it somehow, but i'm unsure if i could damage anything with the vacuum cleaner?

Of course you can vacuum it...
Just be careful...
You can also take out the blower motor and clean that also (I bet there is lots of garbage inside)...
Look at that "spunge" thingy on the right of the picture you have posted...
Underneath is the blower
Just look from beneath and you will see 3 screws... unscrew them and take out the blower and clean it...

No. Only 2001+ civics have them. And I assume the new ones too?
