Air Conditioner blowing fuse?
My CRX keeps blowing the fuse for the AC compressor. Buddy of mine suggested that it's probably the compressor clutch going out. Does this sound accurate?
Any way to replace the clutch without the special Honda tool?

There is a simple one wire connection at the compressor. (about 4 inches from the compressor)
Disconnect it and see if the fuse still blows. If it doesn't blow, then you know it's the clutch fan!!
If it still blows, then the problem is elsewhere. (I think there is a relay for the clutch fan)
It could also be a problem with the circuit that turns on the "AC" fan that is on the drivers side of the radiator. Try disconnecting that and see if the fuse blows.
For gods sake, don't just put in a larger fuse!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions Wes. Don't worry... I had no plans of using a larger fuse.
I'm going to have to back burner this ... as of this morning I'm having other issues that are more pressing at the moment... but once I get the car driveable again, this is next on my list.
Thanks again.
