1999 Honda CRV Fuse 56 keeps blowing
Hi all,
I have scoured through the forums, but I just am not sure how to diagnose this issue correctly. Any help would be much appreciated.
AC air blows, but it blows warm air. I realized fuse 56 was blown so I replaced it. The air was cool again for our one hour ride, but then the next day it did the same thing and the fuse blew again.
What I found on the forums was to unplug the condenser fan and put a new fuse in and see if it popped. This is where I am kind of stuck. Since the fuse doesn't pop for quite some time when replacing it do I leave the condenser fan unplugged for that long? Is there anything else I should do in the meantime or any other test since it's not popping right away?
I think after this, the forums say to unplug the compressor clutch. If I can get the first step complete then I can move on to this one and would love to know how to unplug the clutch when the time comes.
Thank you in advance!
I found this on another post. This is Fuse 56 which is blowing on my CRV.

Re: 1999 Honda CRV Fuse 56 keeps blowing
Thanks Vap133...Super strange, but no I have not done anything on the car at all concerning wiring - just new tires. This issue happened a while back and since I'm new to the forum it just posted recently.
While troubleshooting, I unplugged the condenser fan and the fuse didn't blow. I also made sure wires were not frayed, in bad shape or looked strange and then plugged the condenser fan back in. I replaced the fuse with a new "BETTER" fuse (other one I had was garbage). Now it's been working like a charm ever since! Go Figure. I'm happy it's working and hope this post doesn't jinx it.
For anyone looking into this same issue, start with replacing the fuse, then unplug the condenser fan and run it for a while, then adjust your wiring to make sure it's not touching or frayed.
For all I know it could of been the clip for the condenser fan was just shorting it out b/c it rattled loose a little.
Thank you everyone for posting on the forum and for all the answers! Very helpful!
Cheers!

I don't think the one in there was very good, was a light plastic and see through, just looked cheaper than all the others. I got a new one that wasn't as see through and A-OK so far! We'll see in another month what happens. HA HA
