Never lose hope! Check out my thread.
Hey ITR owners..my friend recently had his car stolen and after about 2 days we felt that it was gone for good but the thing is I had this itching feeling that if I post a thread asking for help something might turn up. Well something did..but not what everyone expected..here's the link http://www.southfloridaracing....40566
Nevermind the banter and **** talking..I was just pissed at one guy because he implied that my friend was asking for it to be stolen because the lack of security features which he in fact did have.

Haha..yes that thought has crossed our minds..we definitely gotta thank them in person and then at least a nice dinner to show our graditude.
Happy ending! Hopefully it becomes a perfect ending with thieves going to jail.
Your friend must be counting his blessings. Everyone involved already knows how ridiculously rare it is to recover a stolen R, but still.
on him for not having full coverage; he needs to get right on that - and find a beater or a friend for trips to the mall.
These babies are endangered. I'd like a few to stick around for years to come.

Yeah he's gonna get the works on the car when it comes to security..or at least full coverage...and about catching the thieves...I really don't know if they dusted it for prints before towing it....the steering wheel has only been touched by the father who had to go pick it up from the towing yard so it's still easy to discern who prints is who..we're in a different county so I dont know if we have to bring it back down there to get dusted if it hasn't been already...I definitely wanna see some scum *** thieves go to jail for this.
Yep, you got very lucky. The day it was stolen I got a call from Erick telling me about it. Then I got one again couple days later telling me that he found it.

good finding the car. though i was expecting pictures, or more detail to show up in that thread. (they found it on page 3) shame the cops werent involved.
especially in south florida...I know that Jason (former moderator here) used to tell us there was a huge anti auto theft division down there...
a call stating "someone stole my car, my friends found where they parked it. They are probably keeping it on the street for a few days because of lo jack worries, would it be worth while to get it staked out to catch the thieves? I'd be pressing full charges"
who knows...
atleast worth a shot

x3 The cops were involved..they were called after Erick and a friend discovered the car. They arrived and then the car was towed..not sure if it was to a towing business or a the police impound. Either way i don't think it was dusted for prints and I don't know why. The car was found in a apartment complex so I know the thieves live near by so they could keep an eye on it. I've been meaning to ask the owner what he's gonna do in regard to catching the thieves. I don't think there's a big chance of catching them though(there wasn't a big chance on finding the car either but did that didn't we?:]) ..first if we do get any prints and they aren't smudged..it'll only work if they have a previous record which they probably do but that's never a guarantee..secondly..a sting with the car wouldn't work anymore because it was recovered and moved..now they would avoid it like the plague. I'm really hoping he will at least get them to get and check the fingerprints. I'll post here if there's ever any updates.. P.S. I would like to give a big F*U*C*K* YOU AND YOUR FAT MAMA to the thieves if they ever view this thread.

I was reading around the rest of the ITR forum and noticed there's a guy with a similar name(typer_696) to the guy that found the stolen car..well it ends up being the same person(Erick)..just one number is different in his southfloridaracing name(typer_679)..I see he's been a helpful person for a while before this incident..it's amazing to see a stranger wanna help out so much just because of a common love of the ITR..If he ever comes through this posting then I wanna thank him again for the help..it's too bad we didn't come up with the idea of baiting the car before it got towed...thieves are creatures of habit though so I know we'll get them one day.
