why is one side of my car higher then the other see pics?
hey guys i have just took off my coil overs, and re-installed the stock spring and strut combo. the car is a 2000ex, my questions is why is the passanger side much taller then the driver side? everything is stock and was installed properly, not to much to mess up.. Also all tires are exacty same P.S.I, is there something i can do, adujust, try? thanks

DAMN i was just gonna post about this... my driver side is almost an inch lower than the passenger side. But nothing seems wrong with the ride and i don't get uneaven tire wear. I figured a fat lop drove the car before me so one side is lower....
i dunno, but i would like to.

noobcivicowner: just re-installed my springs and same thing driver side is 1 inch lower, tire were is fine, alliment is good, drives great.. just looks slanted.. if you fix yours let me know how you did it.
Would it be easy for you to take off all the springs line them up beside each other and see if there is any difference between them. You said they were used before, springs do get tired after a while and will compress. One side may experiance more bumps than the other (sewer covers, pot holes...etc). I really don't know, I am just throwing guesses out there.
Also, did you measure this after you drove the car for a while or just after you installed the springs. I know on my Honda if I jack one side up and then put it back down it will sit high untill I drive it for a bit (a few kicks).

that sounds like it..

I had the same problem with my first set of springs.
My shock blew out and the spring started sagging. I also had about an inch difference between left and right.

on a 00 the rear springs slighty larger?, i know i put the slight lager springs in the rear, and smaller looking coils in the front, the seem to fit the strut fine, like there in the right spots, just in 00 the springs look so smilier, not like the other years where you have that huge rear spring.
Did you check to see if the shocks are blown before you put them back in.
The driver side will usually settle a little lower than the passenger side unless you always have a passenger of similar weight in the car when you're driving.

LARGER SPRINGS GO IN THE FRONT

the uneven ride height is normal, my driver side has always sat a little lower than the pass. side. Keep in mind that the engine sits more over to the driver side, along with the steering rack. The tranny sits on the pass. side but it's pretty light.
My car's springs are completely stock, and the orignal ones.... so, that doesn't explain it, also, my shocks are fine... so that doesn't explain it either. I'm assuming its just the compression of the spring over time on one side more constantly than the other. I'm assuming new springs on all 4 will do the trick. But i don't have money to just throw into new springs so i guess i'm living with this.
I remember when i bought my del sol, before i sold it to get my current 97 civic ex before i lowered the del sol, it looked the same way. lower on driver side. After i lowered it (new springs) this problem was fixed. I dunno...

First off...Fatter coiled springs go in the front, they are usually a lil shorter. The taller, skinney coil springs go in the rear. If ur using stock struts its possible the ones on the lower side are weak/blown which isnt unusual. Get ur springs straightened out first though.
did you tighten the bolts in the botton of the struts with the car in the air or on the ground. the problem you have is usually caused by tightening the bolts with the car in the air. you should tighten these bolts with the car on the ground and the weight of the car on the suspension. when you tighten them in the air it will put torque on the rubber in the bushing and cause it to sit uneven like that.
