So nothing to do today and luckily my cousin is hanging around at my house. So we decided to turn the front bumper signal into a additional park light. Here is the result, and props to my cousin for hooking up the wirings..

i wanted to do the same thing, how hard was this to do? i am thinking that you wired the bumper lights up with the corner lights and do they still blink wwhen you turn on the turn signal?

 

Yes you are right, My cousin tapped the wire from the corner turn signal. Oh yeah you have to get a double contact socket and double contact bulbs..

 

not bad... I accually switched the wires between my front parking light and my bumper light so when I use my turn signals, the 2 lights in the corners alternate. It's pretty cool except that the 194 bulb in the corner light doesn't pull enough current and my flasher thinks that there's a burned out bulb so it flashes at 90 mph! But the bumper light does look good being on all of the time like that.

 

i have done that same thing to all 3 of my 88-91 civic/crx's..it looks good.i had it so my blinkers only in the corner lamp.and the bumper light just stayed on.and vis-versa.Pretty cool! oh yeah, my bumper lens,and corner lens are both painted all orange too.

they only work as parking lights and i could never figure out why??

Yeah, I did the same thing about 6 years ago. And in 6 years, I must go through 1-2 pairs of bulbs per year 'cause they weren't meant to be on all the time. It's okay, though 'cause they act as fog lamps at night and lots of nice extra illumination.

What sucks is that oncoming traffic always looks to your bumper lamps for your turn signal... I guess the corner lamp looks a little weak when blinking.

so you just switched it so that your bumper lights are always on and your parking lights blink? thats kinda cool.. but how would you wire it so your parking lights are like normal, and your bumper lights stay on and blink when you hit the signal?

 

yo i did it too but i made it so my bumper lights blink also because i hate the 90mph blinking

 

you need to change the light socket to one that accepts a 1157 bulb. (the double element one) I just changed mine today. hook the brighter part of the bulb to the factory bumper light wire, and the other element to the parking light wire.

It's pretty easy with the bumper off. (I just happen to have mine off getting painted this week)

 

make sure the housing in the lower lamp is a made for a 2 fillment bulb.. you can buy aftermarket ones at kregen or wutnot ( they should have 3 wires one black for ground and 2 others for power to each fillment) or use housing from cars at junkyards.. buy bulbs that have 2 fillments inside ( those are the springy looking things stretched across in the middle of the blub that light up) wire the ground to ground or the frame, the light that lights up the least or more dim to the parking lamp and the light that lights up brighter to the light in the corner lamp that flashes when you signal (this wire should already be ran down there for the stockflashers)
