Default 350hp daily driven hatch

i drive a 93 hatch weighing in at 2230lbs with me, lsd, and about 350 hp. i am looking for a tire in teh 205/55r14 size i am not that worried about tread wear but i would like it to last about 5K miles or better. i drive hard on the street and i drag at teh strip almost every other weekend during the summer.

question is will a drag radial like the nitto 555r handle better than a street tire on the road? how will a tire like the toyo RA1 handle on the strip? i know i cant have the best of both worlds but where is a good compromise???

Maybe others in this forum can help (chime in!). But if not, you might find that you get more knowledgeable advice by asking in the drag racing forum, where there is a lot more drag racing experience than here...

(Oh, and you CAN have the best of both worlds, by getting an extra set of wheels, no?)
