him: yeah, im calling about the type R..
me: umm....i believe you have the wrong store...
him: really? ****** told me you were selling your R..
me: really? i havent talked to ****** in a long time....ive seen him ridin around on lunch break, but i know i didnt tell him i was selling her....besides, you wouldnt want it for the price i would part with it for...

Hmmmm. If I had to sell my Type-R, it would be replaced with an Evo 9 MR, or quite possibly the Evo 10.

But regardless of me being interested in both of those cars, I would more than likely keep the R in storage and purchase something else.

i think the only car that could pull me away from the R would be another letter of the alphabet...

I'm asuming you've got some seat time in the new M? I do and I have to say that I wasn't impressed at all. The power felt flat, the shifting was notchy. It felt like a big car. The brakes were kick *** however.

I have been getting a lot of calls like that recently from people I dont know. Granted I told a few people I am considering selling her and getting an early to mid 90's NSX, but I dont like my phone number being given out and random people calling me.

Thats exactly how I thought. I'd just laugh whenever someone offered to buy mine, but changes in life eventually forced me to sell .....I'm still in denial lol, and often catch myself trying to source another JDM ITR, it's sooooooo tempting!!! After college I'll own an R again!

Recently i've been thinking more and more about selling mine, i really fancy an S15 SpecR but i cant justify selling it as its had so much spent on it that i'd never get even half of what i spent on it back again. I could strip it off all the parts as i have all the originals but then it wouldnt be as desirable and a lot harder to sell, so i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment

I hate the elise and exige....have you ever tried getting in or out of one? theyre a track car and totally unsuitable for daily driving. I drove an elise once and theyre so low its scary, i was travelling behind a big rig 40ft truck and i'd swear i could drive under the rear of it (if i wanted to)

Of course it's a weekend car, not looking for comfort.
Maybe once a while take it to the office like I do with the current R.

Every time theres a problem or something breaks I say f this POS, and every time I fix it or repair something I fall in love again. It totally sucks.

this thread reminds me of an incident last month. i guess some guy saw me drive into the parking lot of b.j.'s in cerritos to get some food with several friends. he approached me when i got out of my car and the short conversation went something like this...

him: nice type R, you want to sell it?
me: thanks. it's not for sale, but how much are you offering?
him: $15k.
me: bye.

could'nt you park up the itr & finance the s15? i'm kinda looking around for something newer as a daily driver. any offer i might get on my itr would only be insulting besides the fact this car really gripped me the first day i drove it , so i'll never let it go
if you do get an s15 are you going to be able to leave it bog standard???? or will it end up the same as your itr......modified beyond any reasonable sale price
what do you do with a car you've spent all those hours & money on,all those highs & lows............. its an oily love affair

you're in nyc, so that's tough for an itr.....

be careful with the a4. my buddy has a built-*** s4 pushing near 500whp, and it's just rediculous.... but so is the maintenance!

This man speaks the truth. It's like those cars are engineered to have all these parts break every 40 thousand miles. You all thought Acura/Honda parts are expensive....holy crap. European cars are down right rediculous.

Everyone would sell their car for the right price! Period no matter how much you like it. I got mine for 8000 2 years ago and would sell it if the right deal came along. By the way, I am looking for a 2000+ M3.
