Maybe a tad lumpy idle, but it should be okay if you do everything right.

my friend has a JunIII'd GS-R. if you made me drive it with my eyes closed, I'd swear it was a stock Type-R.

If you run the JUN ECU with the Jun 3 cams you can't even tell you have bigger cams, until you step on the gas of course. My car is stronger through out the entire powerband. When I drop it into 3rd gear on the Interstate and jump on it, it pulls so ******' hard. IMO they are the perfect cam if you are willing to spend the $$ to give them everything they need to work properly.

You obviously have no experiance with JUN cams. Before making a post, please make sure you have experiance with the product. Not trying to be a dick, just dont want a JUN bad idle rumor

BTW, had mine for 7 months and love them, so do the 3 other friends that have them too.

i'm getting one next week, and it's more about tunning, but if just compare those with turbo or something else, it last forever.Jun's are more rare than else, and it's not easy to get it. besides, jun type 3 are too big for stock ITR pistons, which mean they won't make that much power without bigger pistons.

I hope you mean, higher compression. Because they do absolutely fine with stock discplacement. Any big cam with a lot of overlap needs compression to make good power. I used a Mugen Headgasket to bump compression until I have the cash to put some JE's and Crowers in the bottom end.

jun3 are great cams.. but gotta rev high to get the most out of it and higher compression. Idles PERFECTLY. Check out my dyno.. its sooo sweet to make so much power with a bone stock idle. One thing though.. dont plan on revving the jun 3 very much past 9000 rpms, even though it makes power.. the ramp rate on those cams are extreme, and at 9000+ rpms... you can imagine how much stress it is putting on the rocker arms and that is one of the main reasons y jun3 snap.. because of overevving.

I know Miguel's (SIINSI) dyno numbers, but what about the rest of you?

I do not under snay circumstances want to tear apart my bottom end because IMO you can't beat a Honda engine build from the factory, so no upping the compression with pistons - yet.

I'm thinking of cams and of course JUN 3's are being considered, as are the Skunk2 Stage 2 since the specs are nearly identical.

Anyone besides SIINSI running JUN 3's on stock CR? I know he made 200whp on stock bottom end, so what about everyone else?

Dyno numbers anyone?

Thanks.

It's a B16, but it's a stock bottom end. Check the sig.

A good friend of mine has a fully built 1.8L GS-R motor with 12.5:1 CR and JUN 3's and it pulls crazy.

There was a dip pre-VTEC, but tuning solved that problem.

I am still curious about those running JUN3's on stock CR or slightly over stock CR from headgaskets and whatnot.

Anyone?

BTW: GS-Rfoedoe, i didn't know you were running JUN3's. You need to stop by the shop and check some things out, and let me check out your car too. Later!
