i have a 99 civic ek coupe. when ever i step on the brake my signal lights come on and shown on the cluster.

 

sounds like a crossed or miswired wire

 

i tried looking at the wires but it seem right. so you think its the brake sensor that is no good.

 

absolutely not a brake sensor....it's a wrong wire, wiring situation...

 

my old eg did the same thing, your brake/signal wires are probably touching one another. It'll be a bitch trying to find the problem but good luck...

 

You have a wiring problem some where. Do you brake lights come on too? I know when I hooked up some trailer lights on my truck, I didn't wire it up right and my blinkers came on when I hit the brakes.

For future reference, a 99 coupe is an EJ not an EK....
