ok when i am driving my car and i get around 3rpm you can hear a slight rattle but if i accerlate or de. it you cant hear it any more..... i think its my exhaust rattling against something or my heat sheild??....who do ya'll think. o ya its a 01 lude

 

i got the same noise around 3K...i think its a leak from the headers but am not sure......

 

do you have an aftermarket header?

 

Could be you need a valve adjustment. How many miles on your car?

I get a little chatter between 700-760 rpm and anything lower/higher than that nothin.

i just got my valves adjusted about 7 months ago.......

 

yes i have a aftermarket header

 

look under the car and look at the bracket the goes to the back of the block holding the header.

 

im fully stock and have the same rattle...and its the catalytic rattling.

i believe is something with the cat too...... o well just means i need to order a catco hi-flow cat soon

ur not going to be able to dianose the problem by twiddling your thumbs and waiting for someone 5000 miles away from you to guess what the problem is

 

i got under there already and all the bolts were tight and nothing seemed wrong .....i mean seriously it sounds like something is rattling aroun in my cat....i had my friend give it a little gas and you can hear it slightly up til 3g then you can hear it then after its gets pass 3gs you cant hear it anymore.
