Default VTEC not engaging....No CEL

So one reason why I think my car was running lean in boost and no power is becuase now the car is not going into vtec. My maps were not tuned in the high rpm/psi range in the low cam hence why the car ran lean and had no power.

So I dont have any CEL's. WTF could be causing this issue? What is VTEC related on the intake manifold? I found a small silver o ring on the floor in my garage. Not sure if it was on the intake mani or not.

BTW

Oil level is fine. And I checked to see if the solenoid is opening with power and it clicks/open when I give it power.

Does the coolant level have anything to do with the VTEC system? Maybe the system isnt full bled?

On a stock cam you cant really tell at all. With my zex cam you can feel a slight difference.

there's your first problem..get your car tuned.

No CEL's? sounds to me like your car motor is running just fine. It is hard to tell how hard vtec pulls in most d-series motors. I too had a Zex cam in my d16 and couldnt tell when vtec engaged.

no.

and it doesnt matter if your coolant system is bled, it has nothing to do with the problem. Although, it is a good idea to flush it out every so often.

If it is a mini me in a light hatch, you can feel a slight pull. Not as much as a duel cam, but it's there. Why so much hate for single cams : /

Odds are it is engaging just fine, you're just used to it
