brake pad questions
How often do you find yourself changing your brake pads? Miles and # of months
Do you use shims? How about the Molykote M77 the manual says to use, do you use that to and what is it? I used this brake quiet stuff the first time I changed the pads because they were squeeking but this time around it's just being a pain and I don't even care to keep it on there since it just squeezes out from betwen the pad and shim overtime anyway. Plus these pads aren't squeeking.
Is the fit of the end tabs of the break pads into the caliper braket suppose to be stiff? With the clip spring and all the fitment is kinda tight and they touch the rotor. This sound right? It's been over a year since I've changed them and I don't remember them being THIS stuff... maybe a little snug but thats it.. but it's been a good while.
Also, Autozone doesn't seem have any break caliper rebuild kits avalible. I need to totally remove a caliper to knock out a sized slide pin and thought I might as well rebuild both calipers too, to help diagnose a breaking problem I've been having since I had the car. Without a compressed air supply, is it really feasable to rebuild one of the calipers using the same seals and such?

Re: brake pad questions (Paprika)
if you are only having problems with the slides, don't worry about rebuilding. just make sure that the slide with the rubber grommet is on top and the rubber grommet looks good. when i get stuck slides i like to clean the socket with brake cleaner and then regrease it, but fresh greas may be just as good. i think the pad tabs are supposed to fit pretty snug, also i have never been impressed with any of the break quiet stuff...a good quality pad shouldn't make much noise.

oh yeah...i think 30,000-50,000 miles is what you should expect depending on the quality and driving conditions. roughly...
