Default Full throttle shift

Well, I finally decided to put my new ACT clutch to the test today, so I got out on the parkway and opened it up in 1st, shifted into 2nd at about 6.5k RPMs and decided I'd do a full throttle shift into 3rd, I've done this MANY times prior to my ACT clutch and I mastered it at one point, well instead of hearing the tires chirp as I release the clutch, I hear my engine still riding the rev limiter and the view of wasted gas in my rear view mirror, I redo the clutch making sure it's shoved tightly into 3rd and still it's like I'm reving in neutral. After 3-5 seconds of this nonsense I let off the gas and push the clutch in and push it in to 3rd AGAIN, release the clutch and it catches NO PROBLEM. So I'm thinking maybe I screwed up some how. I take my car off the parkway and get on another street near my place and decide I'll full throttle shift going into 2nd this time, rolling from 1st I slam on the gas, I approach my shift point at 7.5k RPMs, push the clutch in and slam it into 2nd, release the clutch and I'm just drifting along with my rev limiter screaming away, I release the gas and repush the clutch, push it into 2nd again and it catches like nothing was wrong.

Can someone explain why I'm not engaging at full throttle shift coming from stock to an ACT extreme pressure plate w/ street disc?

I've got a 2000 accord SE, with an H22 swap done, it's a '95 JDM h22A w/ 99 prelude tranny.

I'm sure everyone is going to say somthing about the shift cables, but seriously, is there a way to fix the shift cables or is there a better set of shift cables I can buy somewhere?

oh ya, in case anyone feels like asking this, I've put about 1.2k miles on the clutch since it's been installed, so please don't think I just threw a new disc w/ pressure plate in there and decided to hot rod it and destroy the disc.

thats weird because it sounds like thats exactly what you did. Was that 1.2k miles of NOTHING BUT easy driving w/ easy clutch engagements?

for 500-700 miles I kept the gear changes to 2-3k RPMs.

my stock clutch sliped quite often on hot days, so I know exactly what a slipping disc feels like (and smells like.. hah)

I'll confirm this weekend if it is a glazed disc though, I'll attempt a full throttle shift and instead of pushing the clutch I'll see if the disc is trying to catch up with the flywheel, although if it's the cables, I'm not sure if it's going to shove it in gear when the vibration goes away.

I forgot to mention, it is a little difficult at times to pull out of gears when I'm above 7k RPMs.

Did you have the flywheel machined?

yup, I had it resurfaced.

I did this on the way home from dinner just now.

I full throttle shifted into 2nd and again, nothing happend, well I let off the gas without touching the stick or clutch and the RPMs went to idle and I just coasted along, pushed the clutch in and I pushed it into 2nd, no problem getting it to grip.

so after doing this I pushed in the clutch, put it in 2nd and reved the engine to rev limiter and let off the clutch and squeeled for a second and zoomed on my way.

Somthing is keeping me from putting it in gear when the engine is at full rev, which also explains why it's sometimes difficult to take out of gears when at high revs.

Sometimes I like to get into traffic with 1st gear going from 0-40 in a couple seconds and then put it straight into 5th to go with the flow of traffic, well, pulling it out of 1st at about 7.5k it's very rough.

so with that added info, any ideas? could it be syncros? and if it is, what should I do?

sprung or unsprung ? You need to just take it easy for a little and if the problem is still there, take it off again ( i know its a bitch and its time consuming but ....you got to ) check the plate and inspect the clutch.

EDIT: Sprung....didnt see the street disc

so basicly take it easy for another 300 miles or so, and if I'm still having trouble I should take the tranny off and look at the functionality of the pressure plate and disc. Is that what you're suggesting?

It was the clutch pedal. You would be amazed how much clearance 2 full turns of that adjustment on the back of the clutch pedal can make.

Before adjustment I would be pushing the pedal in 3/4 of the way before the clutch would disengage, now I only press it in 1/2 the way and it disengages.

I also wired up my full throttle shift function for my hondata S300, so the RPM automaticly drops to 7k when I push in the clutch.
