1997 accord LX automatic 312,000kms on it

check engine light

code 90 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area

any suggestions how to clear this? There are no fuel leaks tested and checked no smell of gas anywhere

stupid question but is your gas cap on tight? if not you may throw an evap CEL.

 

yah i was thinking this too..

the code has been on for almost a year now.. although i had the gas cap replaced with a ******* jiffy lube one.. i am going to steal a honda one from the wreckers and reboot the ecu tommorrow!

 

ok got a functional gas cap rebooted the ecu and same code.. any other ideaers?
