Only a P72 ECU will operate the IAB (Intake Air Bypass butterflies in the intake manifold). You can wire an RPM switch to do this as well. Is your engine stock?

If its stock leave the stock ECU. If you get a chipped ECU chances are if its not tuned for your particular car, it will run like ****.

yea i have a stock motor. my original ecu was stolen dats why i was wonder whether to get a chipped p28 because i was having some trouble finding a obd1 p72.
The friend who's selling the p28 ecu says the vtec kicks in earlier and the fuel settings where changed to give a higher flow.

As the others have stated, stick to the stock obd1 p72 (94-95). Once you start modding your motor and getting cams, pistons, etc...then a chipped p28 might be something to look into.

Keep checking the classifieds on here...I know earlier today, I saw someone selling a GSR harness..let me see if that topic is in my recent topics.

I am running a chipped P72. There is really no reason to downgrade to a P28. You will lose control of your knock sensor...and for a daily driver, that might be a good thing to have.
