Just a real quick question..

as far as a civic, is the stock airbox the same for a 97 ex as it as for a 99 ex?

Yes, HX and EX have the same air boxes. Non-VTECs are different

thanks and then well we are here, does an 02 sensor (primary) from a 97 work a 99? (of the same model)

Yes. I believe they are all the same except for HXs (wideband).
