OK.....1st you socket your ecu,,,which can except different chips with different programs on them,,,,,You put turboedit program on a chip,,,then put the chip into the ecu,,,You burn the chips using a chip burner, blank chips, and your computer....
Yes the software is free for download,,,but the chipping is not,,and neither is the proffesional tuning of it...although some things you dont need tuned for,,like im running a stock B16a program with turboedit in my pm6....you get the point though

there site said u can change fuel map and stuff on the fly? doesn't this mean u need a harness from a laptop to the ecu? Where can u get the chips and chip burner? sorry if my question are dum i still don't understand. ok u get the soft ware for free make a chip onthe computer, burn it put it in. thats as much as i understand. how do u know how much to change it if its not a direct hook up. this is for my b16a run pr3.
You can make on the fly changes with an ostrage programer*(Spelling
)which takes the place of the chip, you hook your laptop up to it while it is plugged into your ecu socket, then you can add maps directly to your ecu on the fly... Get your tunning done burn a chip and be done

check out xenocron's website...he's also xenocron on here and homemadeturbo.com......and you can get the chip burner cheep from ebay,,get one that has power in the cord
check out http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Home/WebHome that website is devoted to ecu tuning, chipping and whatnot. pretty much all thier ads are from places you can get all the stuff you need for tuning your ecu.

If I understand it, the ostrich attaches to the eprom socket on the ecu, then attaches to your computer via USB. Make sure to check that Turboedit works with it first.
cool thanks just trying to get the stuff i need from what i heard it not hard to use turbo edit and it works good (plus i think its cool to have a laptop in ur car that really does some thing beside play music)
