Hey...I had an 03 DC5 and it was a pretty good car, however I had one major problem with it. It would grind going into 3rd gear about once a week, especially when cold. This annoyed the hell out of me and was actually a reason for getting rid of it...is this common? I traded the RSX for an 06 S2000.

 

why would you ask if you now have an S2k?

 

Friend of mine wants to buy one now, and I'm trying to find out if this is a common problem, or whether it was just mine.

common problem, a quick search would have answered that for you. Honda/Acura has a service bulletin out on it in 02-04 RSX's with 2nd or 3rd gear grinds.

 

Oh I thought all had 2nd gear grind and 3rd gear pop out. I guess what Im thinking applies to 05-06 only?

 

I knew about the 2nd gear grind, I didn't know there was a service bulletin on 3rd gear grind. 2nd gear never ground for me.

 

o i had a nightmare tonight.... try runnin with your friends DC2 on the highway, in third gear, at about 7800 RPM, the third gear just popped out, im getting that fixed asap. (btw, good thing i didnt look at the tach, i might have cried my self to sleep that night)
