im plus sizing my tires, help me out
so i want to go as big as i can without comprimising my speedometer. ive used a few tire size calculators online and it seems if i use a 215/50/15, my speedo will be on point. right now i went to a 205/50/15 and it fits fine. will a 215/50 fit without any fitment issues or rubbing problems???/ try to respnd as quaick as you can as ill hopefully be purchasing these tomorrow. thanks all!!
they should fit just fine... no rubbing infront at all. Hey send me the links to those tire size calculator sites... jafunk555@yahoo.com
just hit up some google and put in tire size calculators, you will find alot. why would u stikc to 205/50 dc2rtek?? with 215/50 you get more surface area without messing up your speedo. more surface is def more traction
Stick to 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. 215/50-15 will rub. Besides, not many tires are made in that oddball size, and the few that are, are all crappy, nowhere near as sticky as some of the tires available in 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.
If you want better traction, concentrate on getting stickier tires, not wider tires. If you want the best dry traction available, get the Falken Azenis RT-615 in 205/50-15, $76/tire at Vulcan. For more information on various 15" tires available for Integras, read this previous post. It was posted in the ITR forum but applies just as well to any Integra with 15" wheels.

No, you won't. As long as the tires are inflated normally, the surface area (the size of the tires' "contact patches") depends only on the weight of the car and the air pressure in the tires. The shape of the contact patches changes with the width of the tires - wider side to side, but narrower front to back - but the size of the contact patches remains the same. For example, on a 2640-pound Integra with tires inflated to 33 pounds per square inch, the area of the four contact patches will be 80 square inches, regardless of whether it has skinny 175 treadwidth tires or 245 treadwidth steamrollers.

goto tirerack.com find a tire you like, and go to the specs page, the last colomn has the outside diamter of the tire, match that to as close to the outside diameter of the stock size tire you have
example:

hope that helps

The side-by-side comparison tests on Tire Rack's website are far more indicative of performance than the user reviews. User reviews are biased by what kind of person buys a given tire, and what that person's expectations are. A tire that is frequently bought by enthusiasts who drive their cars hard is generally given lower marks than a tire that isn't, even though its performance is superior. Case in point: the crappy Kumho 712 gets higher marks in user reviews than the Yokohama ES100, even though the ES100 is better at everything (the ES100 beat the 712 in 23 out of 23 categories evaluated in this side-by-side comparison test). Why? Because a lot of knowledgeable enthusiasts buy the ES100, and have higher expectations, whereas people who get the 712 are less informed and have lower expectations. So the 712 gets higher marks even though the ES100 is a far better tire.
Again, if you want better performance, concentrate on buying better, stickier tires, not wider tires. The difference in performance between different makes/models of tires is far, far greater than the difference of 10 mm of treadwidth.
If you're looking for a tire in the same market segment as the crappy g-Force Sport, then get the Kumho Ecsta SPT in 195/55-15 or 205/50-15 for around $60/tire. Or, as another alternative, get the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in 205/50-15, whose performance is similar to the SPT and ES100 but which you can get for $35.50/tire after rebate. These are both very good tires at a reasonable price, very good dry traction, excellent wet traction, and should last you 25-40K miles. Either of them will give you FAR better performance then the BFG in 215/50-15. If you want even better performance, then get the Falken Azenis RT-615 in 205/50-15, which is a supersticky tire with the best dry traction of all, as long as you don't mind so-so wet traction or rapid treadwear (figure 10-12K miles).

BTW, the difference in outer diameter between 195/55-15 (stock size on the GS-R and ITR, and same outer diameter as other models which came with 185/65-14) and 205/50-15 is 1.6 percent. So using 205/50-15 will make your speedometer and odometer read high by that percentage. It's not a huge difference. But if that concerns you, then just get the 195/55-15, which is available for the Dunlop DZ101, Kumho SPT, and Yokohama ES100 in the $55-65 range.
I mentioned the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in 205/50-15 because it's priced so much less than the 195/55-15 ($35.50/tire vs $54.50/tire after rebate). I don't know why the 205/50-15 size in that tire is so inexpensive, but it is. Don't judge it by the price; it's actually a very good tire. If you're looking for a real bargain in tires, you can't do any better than that. If you're going to get a 195/55-15 tire, though, I would probably consider the Kumho Ecsta SPT instead (for $62/tire).

You can't. But you can get the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in 205/50-15 for $35.50/tire after rebate, from the Tire Rack. ($48/tire less $50 rebate on a set of four.) Heck of a deal...

The previous comments were about the Kumho Ecsta SPT, which is a summer tire.
The Kumho Ecsta ASX is an all-season tire. If you have to use the same tires all year round, in snow and frigid cold as well as warmer temperatures, so you really NEED an all-season tire, it's a good pick. But it won't perform as well in winter as a true winter tire, and it won't perform as well the rest of the year as a summer tire.
If you're at all interested in performance, you are better off using summer tires (and, if you need to drive in winter conditions, getting a separate set of winter tires)...

im on a budget dude. i was looking for a all season tire which is fairly good at performance but not too bad in winter either. i mean when i want REALLL performance ima slap on some slicks and head to the track. this is just a daily driver that needs some traction. well how big of a performance difference will it make. they still havent shipped the order, i could always switch to the spt's as they are only 1 dollar more. but will the spt be **** in the winter??

yes, summer tires have no traction in snow, only dry and rain, do not run summer tires in the winter

I agree. If you HAVE to use the same tires in winter conditions as the rest of the year, then yes, you should get all-season tires. And if you need to get all-season tires, the Kumho Ecsta ASX is an excellent choice.
