Default steering wheel hub

Just wondering, does NRG make the slim hub adapter for a 4th gen? I was tlaking to a guy at aspecproducts and he said they don't make them.. I want a shorter hub than MOMO makes. what are you guys using w/ your aftermarket steering wheels?

Try asking another sponsor that sells NRG products for a second opinion. I inquired about the same product you are looking for a few weeks back and one of the sponsors gave me a price on the package for my 4th gen (slim hub, QR, and wheel).

I can't say for certain if that was a mistake or if that meant he had one for a 4th gen, because I decided to use those funds for something else.

Either way, good luck and let us know what you find out.

I just found this:

It does seem that NRG does make a slim hub for the 4th gen.

that's one of the only pics i have of it, but as far as finding one, it's going to be tough, because a lot of the importers don't bother importing prelude stuff. but look around for HKB stuff, it's very very similar, allows you to install the hub without removing the srs cable reel and they give you a resistor to plug in to keep the srs light from coming on.

for comparison...

so you just have the hub and no quick release? I figure they started making slim hubs because when you add the quick release onto the hub, it adds a lot of height. I odn't know how long quick releases have been available on a commercial level (compared to mostly race-only applications), but i'd guess those non-slim hubs woudl be good to use without a quick release.

soundbomber, did you get that hub from an online store and is that the nardi classic wheel?

I'm using a Boss hub and my SRS reel had to be removed. Fits great though I love it. No complaints.

no, it's a nardi sport. as far as quick release, i can get you an nrg one but i don't really like them simply because it's too thick, i always recommend http://www.nar-spec.com just cuz they're my buddies, that or fet are both fairly thin.
