I need help from anyone knowledged in car mechanics
I currently have an 89 civic std with a D16Y8 swap (96-98 OBD II EX motor). However, I am running a 90 CRX Si intake manifold, 88 si distributor, and a 89 si ecu with it. with this setup, my car runs like crap. It runs as if the car's timing is way off ( sputtering, extremely rough idle varying from 200-1100, bogging, hesitation). Usually the ecu does not throw any codes, but once in a while, it throws a code 16 (fuel injectors). But after I restart the car, the code goes away again.
My question is: should I keep the non-obd setup and try to fix this problem?
I have a 94 civic dx intake manifold/distributor/P28 ecu/wiring harness laying around. Should I convert my car to OBD I?
I also have a 97 EX intake manifold/distributor/97 ex ecu which came with the engine when i bought it. Should I convert my car to OBD II?
What do you guys think would be the best idea? Is it hard to convert OBD's? Do I have the right parts to do this? I have the ecu plugs for both the ecu's. Will the obd differences cause the ecu to throw a code? I really need help with this car.

Check your wiring on the DX~Si conversion sounds like somebody may have botched something up.
Do you know if the engine ran well before you transplanted it into your car?

Which injectors are you running? The OBD-1 and OBD-2 style of injectors are different than what are in the 88-91 generation of Civics and CRX's. You didn't mention you had changed the injectors. That could be your problem. Espeically if you are getting a code for the injectors.
if you got all the ish "laying around" just convert it to obd-1
and how are you running the vtec if you have the si ecu?

I am using the OBDII injectors with this setup. am I not supposed to use these? what are the differences? why does the light only 'sometimes' come on?
The engine was running perfect when it was taken out of my friend's 97 ex. did not mess with timing or anything else. I did the mpfi wiring conversion myself. I used to have a perfectly running zc engine in there before I put in the sohc vtec, so I know the wiring isn't the problem.
I hate engine swaps

what would you guys do? would you change to different OBD? or would that be too much of a pain in the ***?

i have tried to run obd1 and 2 inj,and people say just bypass the resistor box, dont work...............i read what you have, thats your problem the inj from obd2.put the obdo in.
i use a 89 si ecu with what is listed below.

OBD-II injectors are high resistance coupled with the reisitor box that is alrady in place on the 4g chassis it's a wonder the engine even runs at all. Just get a set of 88-91 Si injectors, or the 90-91 'teg injectors. Pray that it didn't fuxor your ecu.
okay, then what would run better? my setup w/obd0 injectors? or a complete OBDII changeover?
does that mean that if I just take out the injector resistor box, I can use the OBDII injectors with no problem?

mine runs great now.i have only used obd o. it works good for me.
no,you can not use the obd2 inj without the resistor box.
just use the obd-o inj for now.
throw em in,tell us what happens!

u need to listen to what people are saying to you. you need to run the proper equipment in your car an obdII injectors are not what you she be running. either:
a: get some damn obd0 injecotrs
b:convert using all of the CORRECT parts
i would just throw the injectors in, a lot eaiser than converting and a lot cheaper too.
