Default Car stopped, check engine light, oil light, battery light, won't start.... HELP!!

I was on the way to work when suddenly the car kind of jerked and lost all power and the CEL, oil and battery light all came on. I stopped and tried to start it but to no adue. Had to pay $50 to get it towed back home.

I remember reading threads where this happened to other people but I can't find them now, anyone know what happened? Damn this sucks...

Need some more info...does it turn over or is completely dead when you try and start it? I'm assuming all the dash lights came on as if the car stalled out, correct, the oil light didnt come on and then the car died?

Yeah the oil light, CEL and battery light came on. I don't know what code (didn't check), but I just reset the ECU fuse and the car starts up fine now. F*ck what a waste of $50...

I'm hearing that it could be my ignitor? I need to go to work but I don't know if I should take my car...

I've never had a cel come on when an ignitor went out. They also gradually go out, not all at once. It is usually a low RPM miss, that developes over time to a full on non running car. BTW the Oil, and Batt, are always on when the motor isn't running, and the ignition is on.

Ok.. umm.... the car seems fine now.. so I don't know exactly what the hell happened this morning, but what I do know is that I lost $50 bucks

I did get a code 17 when my dad picked me up from work using my car... VSS? I recently swapped guages but I don't know if that has anything to do with it..

What do you suppose happened? It was exactly like this.. I took a left, shifted to second, hit the gas and then the car jerked and the CEL came on, and it slowly lost power (coulldn't even accelerate) until I shut it off and then it wouldn't start.

Oh yeah I keep getting confused about the oil & battery lights.. lol

Yeah, that's when the tow truck guy came and I was trying to get it to start... it wouldn't. Not until I got home and reset the ECU fuse... I should've done that on the street and it would've saved me $50... ARG..

I'm now almost certain this is what is giving me problems. I can't wait to replace it.

main relay or fuel pump. Check for fuel first but those are probable, or mabey a coil. One day I parked my car at my house to go in and grab something. Came out and my car was dead. The coil died at idle. ******* distributors.

This Just Happened to me. Battery Light Followed by Check Engine Light, then the front brakes LOCKED at 45/MPH. It is 07/12/2015 and my car is a --05 Honda Civic-- . That was not cool and almost caused a wreak if the person behind me didn't respond quick enough. Car was towed and will find out tomorrow 7/17/2015.

Did it end up running after you reset the ecu fuse? How did you reset it? I tried to find it online. From what I understand, you remove the negative battery cable for about thirty minutes.. is that correct? My car just did the same thing with the jerking and the battery and oil light coming on. Now I can't get it to start.
