So you just did 1092 miles on 3.53 gallons of gas? Congradulations, you are getting over 300 miles to the gallon.

What you need to do is write down the miles you drive between complete fill ups.

As soon as your gas light turns on again, record the mileage, and divide it by 3.53.

Therefore, if it was when you had 192 miles, 192/3.53=54 mpg. Of course you will have more miles on your car by the time you reach the same gas level as when you filled up before though, so mpg will be lower but correct.

I think he means the thing above the actual mileage. But who knows.

This one is different, on bottom instead of on top, but I think this is what he's talking about http://premium1.uploadit.org/B...2.jpg

the way i do it is to fill up the tank till it stops by it self and record the mileage. then, drive around till your tank is almost empty and fill it up again to it stops by itself again. divide the mileage by the amount of gasoline that was used and you will get the answer you are looking for.

No he means 109.2 miles. If you look at your odometer youll see theres 4 number, 3 black and 1 white. He didnt know that black and white mean different things.
