Another freaking problem! (Need help fast leaving in two days back to Kansas!)
Ok, over the past 4 months the car has done this maybe 3 times. When I am driving it feels like the car kinda cuts off, I hit the gas and nothing happens, then within a matter of seconds it would kick back in and be fine. Well today I get in it, take off go around the corner and the car starts to do it, except this time the car shuts off. I try to start it and it wont. I pop the hood and take off the dizzy cap to look in, everything is cool. I was so pissed and get back in and try to start it for ***** and giggles and it starts right up. Ok so I keep driving to my moms house to visit and I get to a stop light. Right when I get to the point where I am holding the clutch in and the brake with no gas, it dies. Try to start it up, on the 5th time it starts and everything is good again. I leave my moms house and at the same light going the other way, same thing. About the 5th or 6th try it starts up and I go, at this point I decide to give it a little gas the whole way home even when I stop I keep givin it a little, everything is good until I get to my block, while in 2nd gear going maybe 15 mph it dies about 200 feet from my house. Once again about the 5th or 6th time it starts up and I go. I park it, get out, kick it, call it a POS go inside and get on honda tech!
Any idea on this one? Need help ASAP on this, need to get it back to Kansas!

Ok, just checked it and no it's not throwing any codes. Thing is it runs fine then cuts out of nowhere so I didnt think it would throw codes.
Any ideas?

I had similar problems when the bearing in my distributor was seizing. It would die randomly until it finally quit for good....
Not saying it's likely but that came to mind

i had kind of the same thing happening in mine but i replaced the plugs and it stoped do you find it hesitates between gears and than jumps back in?
Main relay. Seriously. With my hatch, at first it would just not start up all the time, let it sit for 1-2 minutes and it was fine. Then it would start to spudder sometimes but it would kick back up. Now it will just stall the car. All I do is tap it and it starts right up. I thought my soldering had fixed it but it must of came loose, and I'll have to resolder it again. I took off one of the plates for a switch right infront of the main relay in the dash and I keep a screw driver with me in the car and tap it everytime it acts up. Always worth a try, and it's a 45$ fix (new from honda, free if you can solder) and it should fix your problem (similar to mine). If not, well you fixed a problem anyways cause they always ruin the main relay, dumb POS relay!
i agree, when this starts to happen do you press the gas and it just sounds like puff puff just air going in and out?
if so, main relay is the culprit.
you can try to fix it, but if ur leaving for a road trip id bite the bullet and buy one. $60 or so from Honda.

No, it doesnt do it between gears, just randomly as I drive. Plus the plugs are brand new.
Thanks though.

When I drive and it acts up, I press the gas and nothing then it dies, when I start it, it pretty much does that, like it's telling me to expletive off, lol.
About the road trip, I'm in the Army and I leave is up this weekend, so yeah I need this fixed ASAP.
Thanks for info, will check it out!

my rex did the same ****, it ended up being the positive battery cable, cause it was corroded inside the cable casing. If either one of your cables have ANY areas where they have been patched or spliced, check under the insulation for corrosion, cause the corrosion will follow the copper to the main relay box and start all kinds of wierd problems.
Ok, I played around with it a little more, check the battery cable, then said screw it, had a new cable in my parts pile and just replaced it. Drove the car around the block and then died again, except this time the car has finally gone and wont start. I was paying more attention this time, noticed I can smell gas as I try to start it.
Checked again to see if any codes were being thrown, nope.
Buddy of mine has a shop, but I cant get ahold of him now, might just take it to him if I cant screw around and figure it out.
Still going to do the main relay.

Alright played around a little, ended up being the Ignition Coil. Car runs smooth, hope nothing goes wrong now, needs to make it back to Kansas so I can do the "soldier" thing again.
Thanks for all your help.

This is the same problem I had too. What I would do is clean the grounds in the engine bay. Check the voltage on the Coil and if you have a extra igniter swap it.
