Do "I" need a oil catch can ?
say i've been reading about oil catch cans and it seems like the rule of the thumb is that you really don't need it if your motor is pretty much stock. (But then as you know thumbs come in different sizes).
I have an air intake on it right now and possibly an exhaust mod in the near future (headers, hi-flo cat & muffler), and thats about it, I will never go nitrous or turbo or anything. So is there any area I could specifically 'look' at to confirm if I am getting appreciable amount of oil that needs to be "catched" ? I have looked down the TB and also removed/cleaned the egr and pcv valves once but other than the regular black crud, it wasn't really sticky or oily or anything. So to catch can or not is the question!

Not always. There are some members on other forums that auto-cross regularly and they say that without a catch can, their IM is filmed with a lot of oil. So they went and installed an oil catch can to keep their intake pipe, throttle body, and intake manifold clean. And they just have all the basic bolt-ons, too.
They didn't have oil in their IM from daily driving but only after auto-cross sessions. So I guess if you rev your engine at high RPM's regularly, you may benefit from an oil catch can. If the stock engine needed one, Honda would have included it in stock form so if money is not an issue, I don't think it'd hurt to have one. I may get one after I found out so much crud was in the IM recently. But I'm not sure if it's from the water the engine ingested so I'll hold out on the verdict for now.

All it does is get rid of all of the crap that builds up in your intake system, and motor.
If your car sees the track a lot, or any hard driving, this mod is worth it.
