I have heard this is a cause of a bad main relay. Sometimes my car will crank and crank and not start and throw code 16, which I have been told is my main relay's fault,

Check for the fuel pump priming the humming sound, that will tell you that its not your main realy, Unless you have that rare occurance where the fuel pump works but the main relay work too, which I have to go check too,

anything else what am i looking for

only tools I was armed with was a fist and alot of profanity, so I beat the hell out of it and it started working.
Only thing I could figure was I had a loose connection, because it hasn't acted up in 3 years
Sorry, I'm not much help. I just got lucky with my fix

Take the injector connector off and measure resistance between the the two terminals.... should be between 1.5-2.5 ohms. If not then injector is bad. Then there is alot more on the flow chart i have for this problem...but start there. Also check the resistor box and the connectors to it.
