Got a short and dont know what to do

Default Got a short and dont know what to do

turns out i have a short and my tail lights wont turn on or my dash lights either everything else like my headlights and brakelights and everything work fine damn tail lights wont turn on and everytime i put a fuse in it it blows so can anyone tell me what i should do or where the wires are ran so i can follow them and check em thanks alot i appreciate it i got a zc swap i dont know if that has anythign to do with it

disconnect the rear section of the harness and see if it still blows , this way you can at least narrow it down to front or back

check for an alarm that a previous owner might have installed.

usually a white wire off the alarm is attached to the red/black parking light wire. if the alarm is shorted internally, it will continually blow the fuse.

if no alarm, the parking light wire is at the dimmer switch, front fuse box, and cluster. the running board wire color to the tail lights i dont know offhand. someone chime in.

another thing you should check for is to see if the previous owner did any rewiring at the tail lights, perhaps to put 90-91 tails on the car if it was an 88-89, or vice-versa.
