How to install a tach?
I have an 89 DX hatch. It is an automatic but my friend's dad is giving me a really nice tach for free from his truck that he doesn't use anymore. I know it is kind of ricey to have a tach on an automatic but I am doing it just as a monitoring service mainly. I don't wanna make it look all cool and I am mounting the tach in a spot that isn't even visible from the outside of the car. I am just curious to see what RPMs my car is at most of the time and stuff. When the power really kicks in and so forth. How do I connect it? I eventually wanna get the gauge pod that has the tach in it, but this is a quick fix for me. Where do I run the lines and such? Will there even be a spot?
Thanks.
Thanks.
easy way to do it is to hook it up to the wire on the plug that plugs into the gauges.. every ef honda has the same wire harness. its a blue wire. but i forget if you have to hook it up to anything els.how many wires is coming out of the tach? and if it has a light you have to connect a power wrie to a switch 12v fuse under the dash.
