diagnosing ABS on a 92 Si?
my ABS light is on, car usually starts up and drives for about 10 seconds before it turns on. anybody have any idea how to diagnose it? its a 92 prelude Si. i read in a magazine how to check the code like you would the engine light, but i forgot what it was. thanks guys for any help.
Well, I'll throw out the easy fix, as it's about all I have expertise for. I had a problem similar to that, and it was just my brake fluid being low. Put some in and it worked fine.
The only car I ever had ABS on was my 4 door GSR My ABS light turned on and all it was was one of my tires was Low!!! check your tire pressure..this might not be the problem but it be cool if that's all it was.....it was in my GSR

Here comes the worst case scenario game. Why? Because I'm living it right now. ABS light.
I need AT LEAST a modulator and probably a pump. $2k in parts. And damned right I'm going to shell it out (this is without labor btw, that would be another $400).

You Do check the ABS code the exact same way you pull the code for the check engine light. The only difference is that the cel will flash the stored codes until you remove the jumper, the abs will only cycle the codes twice. Pull the abs code and post it up and we can tell you what is malfunctioning. Best case scenario is that a wheel speed sensor is fubared, worst cas is pump motor overrun/modulator malfunction etc. . . those are very pricey to fix.
I took out my abs lightbulb

ahh well thats cool
no the cars ABS components are all original, never did anything with them.
is there any chance having two diff kinds of tires would mess with it? i dont know the exact sizes right now, but my rear tires are winter and the front two are regular, front are wider too. the back tires got jacked up so i have the winters on there till i buy new ones. but the ABS light didnt come on till like a month later.
