I need to replace my ignition coil on my h22 and was wondering if this will work. The part number currently on mine is tc-0a8, this guy says that this will work for an h22, I was wondering if anyone knew for sure, or will the tc-0a8 only work for an h22, thanks for any help!

That doesn't look like a external stock coil. It looks like its for an internal coil distributor.

 

Isn't the "stock coil" internal? What part number is your coil?

 

its internal only if its a jdm h22a, otherwise its bolted on next to the vtec solenoid.

take a pic of your distributor and I can tell you.

 

i thought all H22's have external coils...

just the usdm ones are external.

Cant tell you that... I threw that thing out years ago. You can look it up on Hondaautomotiveparts.com if you have the usdm h22.

 

Yeah I got a jdm h22, h22a. So will this coil work for the engine then?

 

its not just the US h22 that have external coils.

JDM engines have internal coils

US, AUS have external coils.....


Most likely JDM engines are the only ones with internal coils.

 

EDM are also internal

 

Well no one answered my question....................... So........ I went ahead and bought one off ebay. THanks anyways for the help and debate.
