Default Junk yard dog...

Ok, So we have these parts laying around all over left over from rebuild and project cars and want to build up a DC2 track car........
In the last three years we have rebuilt 2-GSR's 2- Type R's "one of them mine the other the Cone" and even an Ls that had been totaled.
Yes there was this Civic too but we dont talk about him much "snicker" ...
Its all ways been a rolling joke that we could build up a complete car with all of the parts we have.. Well were doing it.
The chassis is a 00 GSR well, most of it i just finished welding in a roof from an ls and the rear half from a totaled R " yes the whole rear half".
Every thing looks good so far the measurements all look damn good. Thank god for the helms and all of its true measurements in the front.
I have not wanted to talk about this just in case it fell on its face but we actually put all of the suspension on and rolled it over to paint this weekend.
as for power plant we have a GSR short block with a b16 head, pct pistons on R rods yielding a 12.08 to 1 comp. I have a ported polished R head completely rebuilt with Skunk 2 stage three cams, bronze silicone valve guides and a butt load of port work. The trans is a S80 with a 4.78 final drive and ITR lsd in it..
Suspension is all 5 lug ITR with Mugen rear trailing arm bushings, and Skunk 2 camber kits front and rear, Koni yellows, Gc coil overs and top hats/ springs again to Koala yummies" .
I will be putting in a full cage so all of the chassis welding really does not bother me because with a full cage in it i just installed a new superstructure to rely on rather than sheet metal and spot welds.
Most of you all know me i seem to buy every ones stuff and know you know why..
I will be putting up some pics soon just do not have the time right now..
wish us luck.
Chassis:
Tub-gsr involved in an bad accident
Roof- LS
Rear- Type R
front left over front end parts with dents damage etc
i was trying to buy JDM Type R's wrecked front end but after a week of calls and im's i have given up.
The car is 4 colors right now- Frost white,Championship white, black, Cone orange... Ugly.......lol

I say, don't even paint it Rene. Paint where you did the body work, but keep the panels the colors they are.

I never shot pics when i was welding the chassis together " mainly did not want any proof of my failure" but the car came out so well and true its real hard to believe that is was just a pile of " chunks of cars".. It will be an "00" chassis but be Championship white when done.. The car is at the paint shop right now but i will get some when it comes back.. I think this will be the cheepist R on the planet! Right now its a sub $1800 car.. lol..

You can now add PY to that car.

I hope the front-end works out for you Rene.

sounds like a crazy build, I had enough "spare" parts to put togther a civic once...sold it for 2500 bucks when it was completed and made one hell of a trip with the money

I'll be there. I even bought some R-Compounds to be able to really play.

I need to figure out what this poping noise is thou. I jacked the car up and looked around at all the bushings and everything, in the front suspension, but can't see anything wrong. It just pops when you change the pitch of the car, and seems to be there one day and gone the next only to come back again. I can't figure it out, so I'm just going to tear apart the front suspension and put it back together. Maybe somethings loose that I can't see when there's no forces pulling and pushing on it.
