Default obd1 and obd2 timing covers?

Whats the difference? I have a GSR block that I'm trying to get new timing belt covers for and I don't know the year of the block. Is there anything I should look for, something to help me find out? I plan on running obd1. If I have an obd2 block can I still use obd1 covers?

from what I understand, the obd1 gsr oil pump and the obd2 gsr/itr oil pumps are slightly different, and the lower timing belt covers differ from eachother. I'm guessing the only way to find out what year is your block is to check the vin number thats on it, unless some one else knows...?!
