Default How to care for a freshly painted bumper?

My car was getting an alarm installed the the guy crashed it putting a hole in my bumper. SO the shop paid me for a new bumper.

When i get it i need to know how to care for it.

Should i let them install the bumper & then start driving right away or would it be better for me to just take it home & let it sit in the garage for a few days before installing it & driving?

Also should/can i wax it right away or should i wait a certain amount of time before waxing it?

Thanks

ok, thanks.

also i specified to the shop that i wanted an oem bumper. is there anyway to tell if its oem or if they tried to rip me off by using an aftermarket bumper? because they did charge me more since i wanted oem. thanks

front bumper if it matters

When I get stuff painted, I let my guy know to just spray it. I would take it home and let the paint cure for 30 days. Then I'll take it back to him for the sanding/buffing.

i'm guessing it'll say honda on the back side somewhere?

and why did you get charged more for OEM? they messed up your bumper they should replace OEM for OEM.

I'm guessing that when he said that the charge was more, he meant the paint/body shop charges more but its being picked up by the alarm shop anyway, but he still wants to get what hes "paying" for. Or atleast that's what I think he said...

Either way, just wait a lil for wax, you wont need it anyway. It should be nice and bling when you get it.

correct, i told the body shop i wanted an oem bumper. they wrote the estimate up for more because of this. so i gave the estimate to the alarm shop & they wrote me a check for it.

so yes, the alarm shop is paying for the oem bumper. i just want to make sure the body shop doesn't try to rip me off & give me an aftermarket bumper.

thanks
