Default Catalytic Converter ???

i think my CATALYTIC CONVERTER is messed up or maybe is clogged or something cuz my car keeps holding back. sometimes i can press the gas and it kinda feels like it just holds back and out of no were it will finally just and go . just something isnt right. my whole exhaust is new but my CATALYTIC CONVERTER and headers. so i was just thinking of geting a new one and see maybe if that stops the bull ****. anyways. i wasnt trying to buy one from autozone or what not cuz its over $100 and i know on ebay or whatever they have some cheap aftermarket ones. but which one would people think i should buy? i dont have anything racing and dont want anything high performance. just an upgrade from the stock kinda or something near that will be good and do the job. so does anyone have a Link or something that i should buy.

.......

i was also wondering. i know that a bad Catalytic Converter can cause loss of power like riding wise. but what about power like with diming of headlights and maybe causeing a car to die out sometimes to fast?

and also what about starting up in the morning? cuz out of no were my car starts up so shity in the morning. like it struggles to turn on . and if i was to drive it for 20minutes and have it sit there for about 8 hours( while am at work) and then when i get out and start it up. it still starts up shity. not as bad as the morning. but still not normal..

You can try just hollowing it out. I did that on my accord for better air flow. If you've never seen inside one,it looks like a honeycomb. The little chambers get clogged with carbon buildup and after a while the air can't get through. I took mine off and just drilled out about an 1 1/2 hole right through the center from end to end. Knock all the loose crap out and put it back on. My car runs great with it done and no funny noises or anything! Just a suggestion before you drop some cash on a new one. I had one get clogged on an old grand prix, and it blew the thing right in half from being so clogged. Sounded like a bomb went off when it happened!

Umm... I'm very supprised that you think a bad cat could possibly cause your headlights to dim.

Check your Alternator belt if it's not tight enough it might not be making enough current...

Do you have any aftermarket sound equipment?? sounds like an electrical problem to me..

Check your plugs and wires for your hesitation and starting problems. Also, I would use an OEM or magnaflow carsound catalytic converter to replace the one you have right now.

Slight dimming of headlights when idling is normal. If your car is running like "****" and your idle drops a little below normal, then your headlights are definitely going to dim. A catalytic converter can in no way cause an electrical power loss.

You realize that stuff is carcinogenic right?

honda83,
test your primary O2 sensor to make sure it's still within spec. An O2 sensor can start to give out w/o triggering a CEL. It would also cause similar symptoms to what you're describing -- rough idle, stumbling upon initial acceleration, especially when cold.

I really don't think your problem is with the cat. It just doesn't sound right to me...
