ot: OPINIONS on which USED TIG WELDER.
Whats a good one to buy used, I don't want to do any extra special work with it - there are some on ebay that look really old and kinda nasty lol but they are pretty cheap. I just want one to weld charge pipes, exhaust, and a surge tank and some other misc things. Keep in miind that I have never done any tig before, and I probably won't do much - just enough to make it cheaper for me to buy one.
I have a crapy gasless mig that can't do much, esp with thinner metals.
Any suggestions on a place to buy one would be appriciated as well.

After upgrading my MIG to gas (argon/c02 75/25) my welds were like night and day. With gas I can make some clean welds that are near TIG quality. This is from a fairly cheap Home Depot Lincoln MIG too.

I was thinking of something like the lincoln idealarc tig-stick welder.
My shitty mig can't be upgraded to gas as far as I know, not to mention its been discontinued. So I would have to buy one anyway. The problem with these ebay cheap ones is they come stripped and you never know if it actually works. I wish I knew a reputable place to deal with

Personally I like the Miller 135/175 gas MIG welders best. But most of the Lincoln and Hobart welders are pretty good too.
TIG is pretty nice (and is next on my list also) I'll probably stick to another Miller with pulse feature, noting too fancy though.
