Car dies immediately after startup - randomly!
b16a2 with 40k miles.
Occasionally, i will turn my car on and it will sputter out quickly and die. Usually if i wait 15 seconds and try again it will be fine. One time this happened, it would not turn back on. So i replaced the ignition coil, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires and the car started up fine.
Now the car sputters out and dies the say way. Its only been 2 weeks since i replaced all that ****. I think this time it is a fuel problem. Sometimes i wont hear the fuel pump prime for two seconds. That is usually when it will sputter out. Why would the fuel pump not prime sometimes?
Main replay? bad pump?

I think you were on the right track with ignition, doesn't really sound like a fuel pump to me. Your problem sounds similar to when i had a bad ignitor. if you have a Haynes manual and a multimeter, test your ignitor(aka ignition control module). hope this helps

Its my main relay. I verified this by listing and feeling the relay when the car would not start. Nothing. So I will resolder the connections and off I go
