Default New and have lots of questions about my turbo B18C

currently the car has no headwork done except for the appropriate mods in order to rev high. i have a drag kit with a SC-61. i'm looking into getting some cams for it but i'm stuck. any1 know what would be the best cam to use with a turbo application. i'm not looking for cheap for money isn't an option. looking for some cams that are going to make power and i do want a nice lope at idle. any help will be appreciated for a honda noob.

wish i could turn up the boost right now. my injectors are maxed out at 18 PSI so i don't want to push it. once i get some 1000CC injectors or bigger i'll turn it up some more. i'm hoping to be chaning my set up sometime this year for a full race kit w/ a GT40R

lol man. Alright my friend and I just did one of these b18c1 turbo setups in his swaped motor delsole. What we did was left the cams alone. Also your injectors are maxed out at 18psi because u only have 240cc for stock, i know this because i have a b18c1. The only way that your motor will read 18 psi is if u get a bigger map sensor like a 2bar. Each bar is 11psi more. U do not need 1000cc injectors. I had everything ready to go and ready to put a turbo on my car.iIchose everything separte then i thought if I just build up my motor/.i could make out even between what i would get out of a turbo setup. Its your choice.

^^

1 bar is over 14 psi (like 14.5 or so), not 11 psi.

A 3 bar map sensor will be able to read 2 bars over atmosphere, which means a 3 bar map sensor can read up to about 28-29 psi.

I just did a check up on the map sensor. Its 14.5 per bar. The b18c1 maxes out at 11psi and has a hard time reading anything after that. For your injectors you going to want 440cc's to start out with. The 440's will work good unless your planing on messing with the internals. If your going to mess with the internals then you want anything over 650.

The stock gsr cams are not holding you back at this point. If you really want to upgrade cams however, ITR or CTR are good choices. It would be an excellent idea to get valvesprings and retainers so you can increase your rev limit.

You have no clue what you are talking about and should do some more reasearch before posting and giving people wrong advice.

I know, I was just giving him a quick science lesson

Furthermore, I also know about the 11 psi mark (sometimes less... it isn't always consistent), which is why I own a GM 3 bar map sensor

Either way, 1 psi of boost will throw a stock ECU into limp mode... the 11 psi strictly has to do with what is the maximum boost the stock map will be able to read.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by teggywepower &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I just did a check up on the map sensor. the b18c1 map sensor max out @ 11psi, correct. But you shouldn't say the b18c1 maxes out because that implies the engine can't handle any more than 11psi (which, if completely stock, isn't too far off). Also injector size and internal engine upgrades have absolutely nothing to do with each other. You want to determine your injectors based on the amount of airflow your engine will see.

I can kind of understand what you may have been getting at with the internals, if you meant that once you upgrade the internals you can turn up the boost, at which point you will need larger injectors... but only making the connection between internals and injector size is not logical.

i was referring to having a V-8. and as far as my set up goes. as you guys can see my car is making 400 so you know that just cancels out that i have stock injectors. i have 500 CC i believe. i have 9.1 CR pistons, eagle H-beam rods, micropolished and balanced crank, as i said above i have the corresponding mods to the valve train in order to rev around 9K. and yes i know the cams aren't holding me back but i want something thats gonna give me more power. i've been looking at the crower stage 2 turbo cam. but don't know how that will work or how well they work.

Apparently the two of you have not heard about Crower Cams breaking in half Go with OEM ITR/CTR cams, they have proven themselves in NA and Turbo cars..... they make power and they wont break.
Here is a nice 5 pages of stuff for you to read, pay attention to what boosted hybrid says.... http://forums.evans-tuning.com...art=0

What do you guys think about gsr in./itr ex. I have this cam setup installed now, and still have the itr intake cam as well. I havent installed my turbo yet, this was from a blower setup. I used to run just itr's, so swapping it back is no problem....any first hand experiences with this cam setup

You actually got it backwards, run the ITR cam on the Intake side and the GSR on the exhaust side. I dont think there are too much experiences having it your way.
