weird problem
I sprayed some Armor-all on my dash. The next day the clear plastic over the gauge cluster is all fogged up with Armor-All. The weird part is, the Armor-All appears to be on the back side of the plastic! I sprayed a little window cleaner on the cluster, hoping it would run down the back and clean off the Armor-All. Well, it didn't work.
What confuses me is; if I spray window cleaner straight at and around the gauge cluster, it doesn't seem to get behind the plastic at all. So how the hell did Armor-All get back there?
I started taking out the gauge cluster to clean it, but I'm stuck. I took out the two screws on the top of the bezel. Then I took off the two plastic pieces around the steering wheel. Then I took out the two screws on the bottom of the bezel plastic. the main plastic piece that holds the bezel still won't come out! It is still stuck at the A/C controls, but there aren't any screws there. I feel like I have pulled as hard as I can on that plastic without breaking it.
Anyone else done this? Also, when I get the gauge cluster out, is it easy to remove the clear plastic piece from the front?

Certainly, I'm not the only one that has had this happen. I just need to know how to remove the long plastic piece that goes around the gauge cluster. I removed all the screws I can see, and I pulled on it until it started to crack. I'm trying to sell this car, and it makes it hard when you can't read the gauges because there's white **** all over them.
