Doing a h22swap next weekend=)
Well, as the topic says, i have a jdmh22 and im going to swap it in my 92lude, im going to run with a p28, my Question is, will the engine start with a unmodified p28? im going to get it mapped, but i want to know if i need to tow the car to the guy who will map the p28, or can i drive it there if i take it easy?
and any h22swap related info whould be great, links

hey even though i'm not helping, i really interested in ur project, cuz i might do one soon too
remember to take pics while working on it
and any compression test or leak down to text the engine before u do the sway as well!

yeah, the motor has had smogtests or whatever you call em overthere in the states, it has been checked and worked well, and the lamda ratings are great. i will take pics and i will tape the startup.
don't drive it on the unmodified P28. It's an ECU for civic with much smaller injectors and you'll be risking very lean conditions which is not good.
is that a fact or just what you think? can i use the p28 for startup then? coz i want to know that the engine works and starts b4 i go to the guy whos going to modd it for me.
if you have the p14 ecu that came with your prelude, do startup w/ that. I'm pretty positive that an h23 (motor the p14 is for) has bigger injectors than the civic the p28 was designed for. it will still lean yoru motor out a bit, but i hear about people running h23 ecu's after they do an h22 swap for a while until they find a p13 ecu and no devastating problems.... i'd use your stock ecu and drive to the shop thaht is doing the work and nowhere else... that's probably your safest bet
Depends on how far ur drving it, if it's just down the road u might be fine, but I don't know if I'd run it for a while when it doesn't have the right fuel maps, u'd be running extremely lean.

yes the motor will start with a stock P28 ECU
And no you won't have to tow ith to your guy...sheesh it's an NA car!! lol just don't womp on it and try to get high off vtec and you'll be fine....what kin of Engine Managmeht will you be using???? good luck with the swap

thx for the answers, ill use my h23 ecu to start up with, then when i get the p28 modded ill run the car with that, ill use a base h22a map from pgmfi then ill work from that, i wont be running a "enter name here for the crap you have" chip
