I made my decision to sell the R
I am putting my 01 PY R up for sale. I am going to get a S2000, I always liked the S2000 better and now that I can get one brand new for 30K I can't pass it up. Has anyone gone from the R as a daily driver to the S2K, if so can you let me know how the transition was, Thanks

email me steve@hartct.com about your R, I'm in the market for one, and havent found one close enough for me to look at.
Selling the car Peter? You should come to the BBQ meet in CT April 27th. If your interested IM me I and a few other locals will be driving down together.
I went from daily drive ITR to daily drive s2k. Its fine, cause my ITR had no rear seats anyway, the thing you'll notice is 1 how quiet it is and how Vtec doesnt engage as noticably, and 2. the lack of room.
Both are great. When I drive the s2k I miss the ITR, when I drive an ITR i miss the s2k..its kinda like a catch 22

I just went from owning a 2001 Spa Yellow Pearl S2000 to a 97 ITR, and the differences are really apparent. IMO the S2000 is a wonderful car, very powerful, good handling, decent brakes, but has that damn convertible top. The ITR is not as powerful, but the gearing makes up for it, razor sharp handling, best brakes this side of Mike Schumakers F1 car and is fully inclosed the way god intended it to be. Dont get me wrong, I loved my S2000, but I hate the covertible top. There are only 2 cars on this planet that I would CONSIDER trading my ITR for, RSX type R, or a hatchback S2000. I know some will say get the hard top, well, IMO it sucks. I hate the lines from the body to the top, I like the one peice look. The S2000 is fast, but no were near feels as "race car ish" as the ITR. Driven hard back to back, the S2000 feels more boulivard crusier that race car. IMo, IMO, IMO. I dont want to start a flame war, this is one mans simple opinion that when combined with a buck 50 wont buy you a pack of smokes. I like the ITR better. I sold the S2000 for one reason, to find a 97 ITR with no AC so I could rip around town and tear up the local autoX all while feeling like I was driving for BAR Honda. and that is exactly how I feel everytime I climb in my overly bolstered seats and crank up my ITR, with the S2000 I didnt get that feeling, I got the "I have an S2000 so Im gonna drive around town with the top down and look pretty" kinda feeling. I dont want to look pretty, I want to drive ugly, so the choice was easy for me, the hard part was finding a good clean example of a 97 ITR with low miles and all service records. Took me 3 years, but I have it. well, Ive ramble enough, again, IMO IMO IMO IMO IMO, I in no way want to offend anyone, if I did, Im sorry. but thats life. Hope this helps
Thanks for everyones input, but to me the S2000 feels more like a race car, the tach., the RWD, 6-speed, 2 seater. The only thing I didn't like about the R was the torque steer under full throtle. I need some RWD.
BTW. if anyone from NE area would be interested in the whole exhaust system I will take it off before anyone comes to look at the car. Spoon header, carsound, apexi N1. IM me.

I went from an 01 R to an 01 S2000. I am pleased. The performance stock for stock goes hands down to the S2000, even with the soft top. As for riding with the top down "looking pretty", no comment...... I like girls a lot.
I'd like to get an S2k as well, but I'm going to try and wait til I can trade in the beater for the S2k and still keep the R! Should only take about 10 years! ha ha
It must be a trend. Someone's on their way to my place from deleware now to pick up my ITR, and what am I going to look at after it sells? You got it. S2000's. I'm pretty sure I'll pick up a white one, maaaaaaybe a yellow. who knows. Anyone want to shoot me whatever info you have about the s2k i'd appreciate it.
I have never understood the attraction to RWD cars? I understand the pure physics explination of why RWD is better, but in order to get the benifits, you have to be one hell of a driver. Take a look at the speedvision world challange series for proof. The guys driving the BMW's are top notch and still cant match the 5 yr old design of the integra type R. I think that some people have this idea that RWD is the only way to go if you want true performance, but in reality, FWD is a solid platform to build a serious race car. Just ask Realtime about it. So you can get the tail loose on command, well, lift in a turn with the ITR and see what happens. This car is so well balanced, I would have thought that driving the ITR would dispel the belief that RWD is the best period, but i guess not. I truly believe that stock for stock and the same driver, the ITR and the S2000 would be neck and neck around the track, and the S2000 and one more gear, RWD, and 50/50 weight distribution. I really like the S2000, but I know its not the greatest thing since sliced bread just because it has RWD.
Generally RWD will be better because it's easier to gain a favorable weight distribution and it's also easier to throttle steer. Of course, the ITR is about the best example of a FWD car, but again, in general RWD will be better under hard driving for an experienced driver. Keep in mind that the Touring series is designed to keep the cars similar
That's why having an S2000 for sunny days would be great, and having an ITR for the track would be ideal as well. You can't always have everything though
