Default 91 CRX Si Engine rebuild burning oil

I had my engine rebuilt about 6K miles ago. The first time I changed the oil it was about a quart down after 3K miles. I figured it was normal being that most all the internals were brand new. Now at 6K miles the oil light came on and the car appeared to be a couple of quarts low. I am not sure how low it has to be before the oil light comes on though. The car does not drip any oil, but it is going somewhere.

HELP! Is something screwed up in the rebuild job possibly?

sounds like the rings didnt seat good, or oil is getting past the valve stem seals.

leakdown test?

Check your PCV valve. If it is gunked up it will stick open and suck the oil into the manifold. I went through a quart in 50 miles.

Just a quick update. Had the shop look at the car and they said it was all fine and dandy. The motor has 160K and never used a drop of oil before the rebuilt. They said because they did not replace the pistons that that could be the problem.

They put straight 30 weight motor oil plus an addiitive in there to "solve" the oil consumption problem. Is this OK? Did they just give me a line of BS because they pulled the head off and found something they F'd up on?

THATS A BUNCH OF ****! All those ******s did to you was thicken your oil hoping it wouldnt blow by anymore. The additive was probably CSL wich is VERY bad to do to a motor. YOU GOT FUCKED!
