guage briteness lights

Default guage briteness lights

I just installed a 95 ls guage cluster but I cant get the night time guage lights to work. please help!!!

Check the fuse under the dash to make sure it's not block. Also, double check your wiring as the ground for that is different than the tach/speedo/blah ground.

Ive checked the fuses but what ground is it??? And is the wiring red to red and red/black to red/black or red to red/black and red/black to red? I wasnt to sure about that part??

Hmm, I don't remember since I basically did mine from scratch, I wish I had the alldata sheet I used...but anyway, are there any left over wires on the ls cluster or other things not working?

I had the same problem but I had only the lights working and not the gauges.

yeah the are some wires left over(door open wire,maintenance light) but everything is working

Hmm, I guess just get a seperate source of power/ground and try hooking it up to just that portion of the cluster that controls the lighting and see if it works.

like maybe mixing the yellow 12v power in with it all?? or would they stay on all the time

I just mean checking the cluster itself to see if it works and then using a DMM to figure out which wire to the cluster goes on when the lights are on so then you know which wire it is that should be activating the backlighting.
